July 15 news, according to foreign media reports, chipmaker Intel announced that it will discontinue production of the 9th generation Core X series processors.

Intel has issued a Product Change Notice (PCN) about the upcoming discontinuation of the Core X series processors, according to foreign media reports.

The company confirmed in a statement that it will no longer accept orders for these processors from January 22, 2021, and that the last batch of processors must be delivered by July 9, 2021 at the latest.

The 9th generation Core X series processors were released in 2018 and had received a lot of criticism. The discontinuation of these processors is not surprising, as Intel's 10th-generation Cascade-X chips have been available for some time now.

Intel's CPUs are still struggling to compete with the AMD Threadripper series, which is way ahead in terms of cores/threads/IO.
